Analogue witterings...

Where, What begins, you might ask.?

Well I am and have been for a while looking at making life either simple or steadily regressing to a more, or is it less, techincal world when it comes to using the computer and showing an online presense.

This blog is a part of the journey.

On my Desktop and computer I run a vanilla install of the Arch Linux OS, use DWM a window manager + some other software from the same stable. I use terminal based programmes for navigating my files Ranger, use a programme called Aerc to connect to my email and read/send/manage my email account, I use Nvim as an editor instead of one of the big office programmes. You get the idea..!

One might argue that the setting up and learning of these systems/programmes has taken productivity time - it has, but the end result once set up is that they then increase productivity, free up time, save exertion on the wrist (by moving to a keyboard focus, rather than a mouse focus). A side benefit is that I get to know the workings of the programmes I use, the terminal, programming languages - generate a deeper understanding of the workings of this box under the desk.

I think this place in the t’internet will start in earnest on Jan 1st 2024 in reality.

Mostly it is for myself in the beginning, it may become more, I have no real idea where it ends.
